Summary of thesis

Language attrition “describes the loss of, or changes to, grammatical and other features of a language as a result of declining use by speakers who have changed their linguistic environment and language habits.” (Schmid 2011: 2). My thesis aims at investigating whether speakers of typologically different languages, i.e. English and Portuguese, immersed in a French-speaking context, experience language attrition differently.
