Summary of thesis

My research project examines how Jewish identities are shaped by colonialism, diaspora, and cultural hybridity, focusing on literary texts from diverse Jewish communities. It challenges the dominant Ashkenazi and Holocaust-centered narratives in Jewish studies and explores themes of identity, migration, trauma, and memory within the context of postcolonial and imperial histories. By analyzing works in various languages, the study highlights the complexities of Jewish identity across different regions and offers a broader, more inclusive perspective on Jewish cultural expression and collective memory.
