Description | Although its swan song has been repeatedly sung in recent years, a sound knowledge of literary theory and its possible applications have become indispensable. This theory workshop – initiated also on demand of Swiss Ph.D students – is planned as a first event in a series designed to familiarize students with central approaches and theoretical areas. The speakers invited have a wide-reaching portfolio, and are renowned for making theory the practical base of reading and interpreting texts in new, exciting ways. Our aim is to foster doctoral researchers’ understanding of theory and its practical application and to help them make use of these theories in their own work. The invited specialists will introduce the works of Deleuze and Ecocriticism. |
